On Saturday, October 5, the Wingecarribee Women Writers (WWW) will unveil The Poet’s Walk in the picturesque gardens of Harpers Mansion National Trust , Berrima, dedicated to Grace Perry AM.
A beloved long-time resident of Berrima, Grace Perry published numerous poetry collections, many of which capture the beauty of the local flowers, plants, animals, and the natural environment surrounding Berrima. Poet, playwright, publisher, GP, paediatrician, mother and cattle breeder, Grace founded Poetry Australia magazine and lived I the Magistrates House in Berrima.
The Walk will feature a series of plaques displaying poetry excerpts that correspond to the various plants, flowers, trees, and areas throughout the garden. This initiative seeks to reignite appreciation for Grace Perry’s work, inviting visitors to leisurely explore the gardens while reflecting on her poetry in a serene setting.
The Poet’s Walk will be open to visitors every weekend throughout October.
